The trouble with a "professional" elevator pitch is that it becomes obsolete pretty fast.
If I were to *really* think, the line I wouldn't rewrite year-after-year is this:
Jessica "Jess" Ruan is an independent researcher and engineer. She hopes that, decades from now, she will have become the sort of grandmother with good stories to tell.
Prospective grandchildren: I am not currently accepting applications for biological grandchildren. Honorary grandchildren are considered on a rolling basis.
That said, "aspiring grandmother" makes for a shoddy elevator pitch in Silicon Valley! Depending on why you're here, you might want different things.
